It was an ordinary bar just looked exactly the same as all other in this city. The lights on the ceiling were quite dim that made me feel colder when I entered. There were 3 people inside. -Two males and one female. I looked around and tried to get as much information as I could. One of the men was sitting in the dark corner with a glass of wine in his hands. He wore a black suit and was obviously deep in thought. His face hid in the darkness, which was not very clear to see. When I entered the room, he made no response. He may be suspicious, just like that kind of hunters. The bartender was half asleep. He caught a glimpse of me when I came in and then continues his dream. At last, my eyes fixed on that woman’s pretty face. Suddenly, my blood was frozen. I stood still and my mind was immediately in a mass. I can’t help shouting out. This was a familiar face that used to appear thousands of times in my dreams. Yes, that limpid eyes, black long hair were both familiar to me. It was her, Helen, my dearest wife.
It was too late to pretend not to see her as she was now staring at me through her magic black eyes. She seemed to be greatly shocked just as I was. Her mouth was half open so it was obviously that she had recognized me. I didn’t know what to do. All those scenes of good old days were suddenly filled in my brain, but… In order to control the situation, I asked myself to be calm and then smiled to her.
“Hi!” I walked straight to her. “Would you mind if I sit here, Miss?” I tried to be natural, but my voice was a little bit trembling.
Helen seemed to sit on pins and needles. “Yes… no, I mean ah…”
Without her permission, I sat down beside her.
“Whisky, please.” I awoke the bartender. He was clearly angry about my disturbing and unwilling to do so. Finally he handed me a glass of whisky and then went back to his dream world.
“David.” I said to Helen.
“Ah… my name… is Helen.” She hesitated and tried to control her self.
