If I buy the POWERPREP® software for GMAT®, should I also purchase The Official Guide for GMAT® Review, 9th Edition?
The Guide and POWERPREP® are designed to be used individually or in conjunction with one another. Whether you buy one or both is a matter of personal study preference. The POWERPREP® software contains two computer-adaptive tests (CAT) as well as practice questions, a Math Review and information about the Analytical Writing Assessment. POWERPREP® enables users to experience actual computer-adaptive tests as would be seen at a test center. The Guide contains over 1,000 actual GMAT® questions, including all the questions that make up both CAT pools from which the questions in each adaptive test in POWERPREP® are drawn. The Guide enables users to access all the questions that make up the two CAT pools. If you buy both, we recommend using POWERPREP® first and then using the Guide for more in-depth study by question type.
After I take a test in POWERPREP®, can I review the answers later?
As POWERPREP® is currently structured, you must review the answers and explanations immediatedly after taking the test. Your responses will NOT be saved and will be lost once you exit the software.
What should I do if the POWERPREP® screen is too small to view the material comfortably?
When you are presented with the introductory screen, you may see a message, "POWERPREP® should be run in 64Ox480 mode for best performance." You should set your display settings to 64Ox480 at this time. Follow the instructions for your specific Windows operating system to change the resolution. When you finish using POWERPREP®, remember to change your display settings back to the prior setting for your PC.
What can I do if I encounter unreadable math symbols, text running beyond the frames, or other font problems?
Deficiencies in fonts include unreadable math symbols, highlights which fall on the wrong lines, unlinked keys, text which runs beyond frames and is not readable, type styles which change within a paragraph, unconventional line breaks, and improper spacing.
